It's Time To Stop
Losing Money.

It's time to stop paying to see your money fly straight out the window. Nearly 70 percent of Lotto shop sales are made in the poorest half of the NZ community.
This Powerball simulation shows how paying for Lotto tickets is simply not worth it.

Simulation

This simulation replicates a Powerball power dip scenario. A set of 10 lines with random numbers will be generated, and can be re-generated by pressing on the "Run Simulation" button below. The simulation will generate the random winning numbers and calculate the total winnings according to the divisions. The divisions are listed in the section below.

About

This site contains a Powerball simulation, based on the real Powerball, a lottery game played to earn cash prizes. The game is purely based on the luck of the player, and players can earn money from a range of cash based on their tickets. You can read more about how Powerball works by clicking on the 'Lotto' link at the bottom of the page.

How It Works

This simulation is a close but not exact replica of the real Powerball game. The simulation will generate the tickets with 10 lines, and the winning numbers. The program will then highlight in red any numbers in the ticket that matches any of the winning numbers. Total earnings and winning numbers will also be displayed. You can generate a new ticket and winning numbers by pressing the "Run Simulation" button.

Divisions

There are 7 divisions in this simulation. The following are listed below:

Division 1 ($25,111,111) - All 6 numbers and the powerball

Division 2 ($35,771) - 5 numbers and the bonus ball and the powerball

Division 3 ($1,270) - 5 numbers and the power ball

Division 4 ($110) - 4 numbers and the bonus ball and the powerball

Division 5 ($55) - 4 numbers and the powerball

Division 6 ($41) - 3 numbers and the bonus ball and the powerball

Division 7 ($15) - 3 numbers and the powerball (bonus ticket prize)

First of all, this site is not serious. This is just a side project, so do not expect anything here to be actually serious (meaning this disclaimer won't look so formal like other sites). This project was created as a visual and more user-friendly, interactive version of a C# Powerball program. The main use of this site is to simulate the chances of winning money from Powerball (although may noy be fully accurate).

Credit also goes to Next.js, in which the site's theme was taken from (the site's theme was essentially "borrowed" from Next.js's site, so got to give them credit). This site was also created with Next.js itself.
